LOVE this dress! This was the second of two that I chose, trying to find a dress for the Marine Corps Ball in November. I'm 5' 9,, weigh about 168 lbs. I ordered an XL. I might have been able to go with a L, but I'm not sure a ,Large, would have been long enough.The fabric of the skirt is lovely - if it isn't satin, it is a very good imitation! The skirt just FLOWS, and is so elegant! This dress is absolutely beautiful on, and is long enough that I can even wear heels with it! The only thing that might have made it a bit better was putting some sort of straps on the under-portion of the bodice. Deciding whether or not to buy a strapless bra or just go with the navy one I already own is a bit of a dilemma. The lace provides some camouflage, but still... Even spaghetti straps would have been nice.One other small quibble - the backside OVER 'the backside' seems to be not quite even. But that could be me. :)
